Lawrence P. Rossoff, DDS, FICD, FACD
Dr. Rossoff graduated from the University of Minnesota, School of Dentistry in 1975. He is a 4th generation Dentist to come from Minnesota. After practicing in the Twin Cities for 4 years, he moved to Vancouver, BC Canada, where he was in General Practice until April, 2003.
From 1995 to 2000 he served as Deputy Registrar (Chief Investigative Officer) for the College of Dental Surgeons of British Columbia (Provincial Regulatory Body). He was responsible for receiving and managing complaints against dentists from the public, institutions, and other agencies including insurers. In addition, he was staff liaison to the activities of the Provincial Ethics and Continuing Education Committees and created the process for clinical remediation for dentists in need of skill enhancement.
From 2003 to 2012 he was Clinical Assistant Professor in the Faculties of Dentistry and Medicine at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, developing and implementing the curriculum for Ethics and Professionalism, Community Service, and Practice Management, while teaching basic sciences in the combined Medical/Dental curriculum.
From 2012 to 2016 he served as Clinical Director for the North American Dental Group – responsible for Quality Assurance, Risk Management, and Professional Development.
During his tenure, complaints from the public were reduced by 60%!

Dr. Rossoff has published in:
- The Journal of Dental Education on the topics of ”Teaching Ethics in a Dental School Curriculum”; and “PACS (Professionalism and Community Service) in the First Year Curriculum”
- The Journal of the Canadian Dental Association on the subject of “Capitation, the Patient and Profession at Risk”.
He authored “A User’s Guide To Ethical Reasoning in Dentistry.”
He served as a Peer Review Advisor to the Journal of Dental Education.
He has lectured nationally and internationally on the subjects of Practice and Risk Management;
Capitation – the Patient and Profession At Risk; The Value in Fee-For-Service Dentistry; and Ethics.
Some of his professional accomplishments include:
- Chairperson – Minnesota Dental Association Committee on Public Health
- President of the Minnesota and British Columbia Chapters of Alpha Omega;
- President of the Vancouver and District Dental Society;
- Elected Vice President of the College of Dental Surgeons of BC (Regulatory and Member Service organizations);
- Appointed Deputy Registrar for the College of Dental Surgeons of BC (Chief Investigative Officer)
- Member of the Canadian Dental Association Third Party Committee responsible for creating North America’s first Electronic Data Interchange system for direct payment from insurers to dental offices.
- Member of the Board of Trustees Canadian Dental Association
- Recipient of the Distinguished Service Award from the College of Dental Surgeons of BC
- Recipient of the William Wood Memorial Award as University of British Columbia Professor of the Year – 2012.
- He is a Fellow in both the International and American College of Dentists.
He is a Certified Association Executive (Canada)
Dr. Rossoff and Shari have 6 children, 5 grandchildren and growing!, loves his Bass Guitar, and his Minnesota Twins!
